Designing the logo for our group called K.A.R.S. (Kids Against Road Salt) was a great experience; not too easy not too hard. Our class had to actually brainstorm the idea to make the logo itself.
We thought about how our world is being affected by road salt and it’s our job to protect it, so when I was asked to draw a logo, I drew a picture of our world with a large bag of salt on it and since salt is bad for our environment, I drew a large red cross over the bag.
I also thought about how our group’s name had the word ‘Kids’ in it so I drew two stick figures standing on each side of the globe (technically what you usually imagine a kid would draw). Underneath the picture was the group name.
After I finally drew my idea and colored it in, I showed my idea to the rest of my group. They liked it but I had to make the color darker so the photocopier would read it easily.
For those who get more detail out of pictures (like me) here’s a picture of the logo:
As you could see, the little dots between K, A, R and S are drawn to look like salt crystals!
I (hopefully) might be designing more things for this group. I’m looking forward to it.
